Students in grades 9-12 are invited to participate in the Three Lakes-Phelps Ice-Fishing Club. The club was formed to to create an opportunity for students to learn or improve on a hobby that is popular in our community all while building a stronger relationship between the Three Lakes and Phelps schools and communities.
The goal of this club is to provide students with opportunities to learn more about the surrounding area, develop a relationship with other students, and work on planning and problem-solving skills. The Wisconsin Interscholastic Fishing Association offers several opportunities for high school students to put team and individual fishing skills to the test. In 2018, the Three Lakes-Phelps team competed at the State High School Ice Fishing Tournament in Minocqua, finishing 3rd out of about 70 teams.
The Ice-Fishing Club is led by Luke Statz (Three Lakes) and Jason Pertile (Phelps).
