By law, school districts are required to provide certain annual notices. These notices are listed below and are available on the School District of Three Lakes BoardDocs webpage. This list may not be all-inclusive. More notices will be added as they become available. To request a paper copy of any of these notices, please contact the District Office at 715-546-3496.
Annual Notice of Academic Standards
School districts are required by the state statutes to notify the parents/guardians of students enrolled in the district of the academic standards in mathematics, science, reading and writing, geography, and history that have been adopted by the School Board and that will be in effect for the school year.
Educational Options
The School District of Three Lakes, children and their families have access to a variety of educational options. State law also requires each public school to annually provide parents and guardians with a copy of the annual state accountability report (called the school report card) for the school your child attends. The full version of the most recent state-issued accountability report for each of the District’s schools and for the District as a whole can be accessed on the District’s website under "Reports and Plans."
Student Assessment Information
This notice is intended to inform parents and guardians of students attending school in the School District of Three Lakes and the general public of the state, federal, and District-required assessments that are being administered to the students in the District.
Student Nondiscrimination
The School District of Three Lakes prohibits all forms of unlawful discrimination against students and other persons in all aspects of the District’s programs and operations. Accordingly, consistent with section 118.13 of the state statues, no person shall unlawfully be discriminated against in any curricular, extracurricular, pupil service, recreational or other program or activity because of the person’s sex, sexual orientation, race, national origin, ancestry, religion, creed, pregnancy, martial or parental status, or physical, any mental, emotion or learning disability, or any other legally-protected status or classification.
District Nondiscrimination Statement
The Three Lakes School Board does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, sex (including transgender status, change of sex or gender identity), or physical, mental, emotional, or learning disability (“Protected Classes”) in any of its student programs or activities or employment considerations. Education of Homeless Children and Youths
Children of homeless individuals and unaccompanied homeless youths (youths not in the physical custody of a parent or guardian) residing in the District shall have equal access to the same free, appropriate public education as provided to other children and youths who reside in the District.
Special Needs Scholarship Program
This notice serves to inform parents and guardians of students with disabilities that the State of Wisconsin has established the Special Needs Scholarship Program.
Special Education Referral & Evaluation Procedures
Upon request, the School District of Three Lakes is required to evaluate a child for eligibility for special education services. A request for evaluation is known as a referral.
Title I - Parents’ Right to Know
All parents of students may request and obtain information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s classroom teachers.
Academic and Career Planning (ACP) Services and Education for Employment Program
School districts are required by the Wisconsin Administrative Code to inform parents each school year about what academic and career planning services their child receives and the Education for Employment Program.
Student Records
The School District maintains student records for each student attending school in the District. State and federal laws require that the maintenance of student records assures confidentiality. The District has also adopted a student records policy and procedures. This notice is subject to state and federal laws and the District’s policy and procedures.
Student Directory Data
The School Board has designated the following student record information as directory data:
- The student’s name.
- The student’s grade in school.
- The student’s participation in recognized activities and sports.
- The student’s weight and height if a member of an athletic team.
- The student’s dates of attendance.
- The student’s photograph.
- The student’s achievement and awards.
- The student’s address and telephone number.
Disclosure of High School Students’ Contact Information
Federal law requires the District to provide institutions of higher education and military recruiters, upon their request, with high school student contact information unless an eligible adult student or minor student’s parent or guardian has notified the District that such information shall not be released without the prior written consent of a parent or guardian.
School Wellness Policy
The School District of Three Lakes recognizes its responsibility to promote a healthy learning environment by supporting wellness, good nutrition, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning environment. This policy supports the district’s mission of teaching students to be productive citizens by promoting life-long wellness behaviors. Research demonstrates that healthy nutrition and regular physical activity are essential for students to achieve their full potential.
Student Privacy
Federal law requires the School District of Three Lakes to notify parents of its privacy policies.
Asbestos Management
The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requires school districts to inspect their buildings for asbestos-containing building materials and develop, maintain and update an asbestos management plan.
