Dear Parents/Guardians,
The start of another great school year is here, and we look forward to welcoming our students back on Sept. 3!
Lunch prices for 2024-2025 will be the same as last year: 4K-6 $3.00/day and 7-12 $3.25/day. Breakfast is available for students in grades 4K-6 at a cost of $1.45/day and for students in grades 7-12 at $1.70/day.
The Wisconsin School Day Milk Program (snack milk) for students in grades 4K-3 is 40 cents per day for students who are not eligible for free/reduced lunch. The cost of milk is deducted from your child’s account in the same way breakfast and/or lunch costs are, if applicable.
This year, a second breakfast service — tentatively scheduled between second and third hours — will be offered to grades 9-12. Second breakfast will not be available to junior high, which is a change from the 2023-24 school year.
Free and Reduced-Price Lunch
Free and reduced-price lunch and breakfasts are available for those who qualify. If you have not already been notified of your student’s free/reduced meal status, please fill out an application to see if your family qualifies. The free and reduced meal application is available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for you to complete under the Meal Benefits section. If you would prefer a paper copy of the application, please contact any of the school offices.
We encourage all families who believe they may qualify for free or reduced meal prices to complete an application online as soon as possible so students receive their free or reduced price meals at the start of the school year. Many grant programs, which award money to the district for various educational needs, are based on the number of students who qualify for free and reduced-price lunch within a district, so it is very important that families fill out the application. The district will not have an accurate count unless you apply. Remember that free and reduced-price meals can only be credited after this application form has been processed. The approval is not retroactively applied.
Food Service Payments
We are continuing our automated debit system for this school year. All students must have money in their account at the start of the school year. You must use the online payment method through the Infinite Campus parent portal as cash and checks will no longer be accepted in the school offices for lunch accounts. If you do not have an Infinite Campus parent portal set up, please contact your school office for assistance. Lunch balances from the 2023-24 school year have been carried forward.
Each individual student account is coded to reflect eligibility/rate of pay status (free, reduced, full). The current balance is always available, and when the account becomes negative, students/parents will be contacted by telephone, text, e-mail or letter. All students follow the same daily breakfast/lunch line procedures. Free and reduced-price meals are regulated by the state of Wisconsin, and these accounts may not be used by any other student. Every student must have money in his or her account for a la carte items, extra milk or miscellaneous items prior to purchase.
The Board of Education, administration and staff of the Three Lakes School District appreciate your active participation in your child(ren)’s education. We look forward to starting another great year with you. If you have any questions, or if we can be of assistance, please give us a call.
Sincerely,
Teri Maney
District Administrator
