Get Ready for 4K in 2025-26!

Whether you're new to the school system or a seasoned veteran with several school-age children, there's a lot to know about 4K. It's an exciting time as your child begins his or her school career, and you might be excited or a little sad or maybe even nervous about this milestone. Don't worry! All of those feelings are normal!

We're here to smooth the process and give you as much information as possible to prepare for the big day.

What Do I Need to Know About 4K?

• Your child must be 4 years old on Sept. 1, 2025, to attend 4K for the 2025-26 school year
• The Three Lakes School District has two 4K programs: Sugar Camp and Three Lakes
• Our 4K program is a full-day schedule that runs Monday-Friday.*
• 4K is fun! Children learn the basics that prepare them for full-day kindergarten.

How Do I Enroll my Child in 4K?

Enrollment is an easy process that just involves a lot of forms. Please call Ms. Katie Pitlik at 715-546-3323 to start the process. We'll also have enrollment papers available during the 4K Open House on Feb. 10, 2025. The Open House will be held from 12:30-3:45 pm.

What will my child learn in 4K?

4K is preparation for full-day kindergarten. Class content is based on the social and emotional readiness of your child, so you can expect your child to gain skills in sharing, following directions, playing with others, taking turns, solving conflicts and making friends.

Meet Ms. Statz, Three Lakes Elementary 4K Teacher

Ms. Melinda Statz loves getting outdoors and enjoying each and every season in the Northwoods. In 2016, she graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and a minor in early childhood special education. In 2021, she received a master's degree from UW-Superior for director of special education and pupil services.

Ms. Statz believes that all of her students have potential and will strive to do their best. Within her classroom, she honors her students' differences and embraces them for who they are. Her classroom is focused on helping students grow and expand their knowledge to become well-rounded citizens of our community. 

Meet Ms. Katy Rose, Sugar Camp Elementary 4K Teacher

Ms. Rose graduated from Northland Pines School District and then attended UW-Stevens Point where she earned a bachelor's degree in early childhood. Since graduating from UW-Point in 2020, she has taught kindergarten and 4K. 

Expect a lot of hands-on projects in Ms. Rose's class! Ms. Rose is an advocate of hands-on learning and interactive play. She is excited to see her students grow and develop in the full-day 4K program.
