About Me
Hello! My name is Dianna (Godleski) Blicharz. I was born in Three Lakes and lived here until the age of four, when my family moved to the south side of Milwaukee. I lived in Bay View until I was 15. In 1973, I returned to Three Lakes when my father retired. My father’s family had settled in Three Lakes in the late 1800s, so it was natural that we would return to this wonderful community.
After graduating from Three Lakes High School in 1976, I ventured to Madison for four years of study in the field of education, where I received my bachelor’s degree in 1980. I married Chris Blicharz in 1982, and we started a family before I returned to teaching. Our three children are now young adults. Bethany, Dana, and Peter all went to Three Lakes High School.
In 1998, I joined the Three Lakes School District elementary staff. I am a licensed literacy specialist with a master's degree from Concordia University. I also serve as a Title I reading and math interventionist for both elementary schools in the district. My hobbies include sewing, fishing and reading, of course!
My Philosophy of Life & Learning
I believe we were put on this earth to serve one another. For me, I believe I have been blessed with specific talents to serve children. Further, as the literacy specialist and Title 1 interventionist, I believe all children should be given the opportunity to learn to read and to express themselves in writing. I also believe they deserve developmentally appropriate instruction that focuses on differentiated, multisensory approaches, and multiple strategies built within a quality, balanced literacy program. All children deserve rich literature — in a variety of genres — and access to various print forms, including digital and online resources to meet the needs of diverse learners. We can never underestimate what children can accomplish if we support their interests and identities.
Teaching gives me the opportunity for continual learning and growth as a professional. As an educator, one of my hopes is to instill a love of learning in my students as I share my own passion for learning with them. I will always strive to be the best educator I can be as I serve the children of the Three Lakes School District.
