Social Studies Email Phone: 715-546-3321 About Me I grew up in Berlin, Wis. During my educational journey, I earned a bachelor's degree in history from UW-Madison, a broad field social science in education degree from UW-Oshkosh, and a master's degree in educational leadership from UW-Oshkosh. I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog, Ruby. I am also an avid Badger fan, especially enjoying Wisconsin football. My family has Wisconsin football season tickets, and I enjoy attending the games with my dad, niece and nephew. I have spent my entire teaching career (over 20 years) in the Three Lakes District teaching high school social studies — civics, economics, psychology and elective history courses. One of my elective history courses, 20th Century Wars, was a course that my dad created during his teaching career in Berlin. I wanted to bring this course to Three Lakes, so students could have the opportunity to enjoy the course as much as I did. My Teaching Philosophy My goal is to achieve the following for my students and myself: For my students: - Become engaged/self discovery
- Be accepting of others and their ideas
- Have respect for all
- Have the opportunity to reach their full potential
- Develop critical thinking skills
- Want to be caring and active members of society
- Develop 21st Century skills
- Become lifelong learners
For myself: - Be dedicated, compassionate and aware
- Instill a love of learning in my students
- Act as a guide
- Provide an environment that is encouraging, positive and safe
