5th Grade Teacher, Three Lakes Email Phone: 715-546-3323 About Me Hello! My name is Jeff Waltz. During my senior year at Kettle Moraine High School, my school counselor and I talked about career pursuits. I mentioned that I was interested in teaching, and she suggested that I spend a little time each day across the street in Mrs. Mayer's first grade at the elementary school. It didn't take long for this opportunity to become the highlight of my day. I knew I wanted to be a teacher! I've taught in the elementary grade levels for 26 years, and this is my seventh year at Three Lakes Elementary. Students and staff work so well together to make this a special place! My family includes my wife, Sara, and our three children: Mollie, Nolan and Eliana. We love to go on outdoor adventures together, including hiking, waterfalls in the U.P., cross-country skiing and ice fishing. We've been Northwoods residents for 12 years after previously living in Waukesha County. Personally, I love to play disc golf, strum the guitar, and fish "out-of-the-way places." Teaching Philosophy Some of my educational philosophies: - The goal for all students is progress, not perfection.
- Learning can and should be fun!
- The classroom needs to be a learning environment that is free of distractions.
- Students grow when they are held accountable for their own choices.
- Students should feel valued and heard in the classroom.
- Students thrive when they have multiple ways in which to show their learning.
- Students deserve an education that fits their individual learning needs.
- Attitude is everything!
