Elementary Music Teacher/JHHS Choir Email About Me I am so excited to be part of the Three Lakes School District as the 4K-6th grade general music teacher in Sugar Camp and Three Lakes as well as the junior high and high school choir director. I graduated from Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School and then received a bachelor of music, with a vocal emphasis, from Viterbo University. After teaching for a year in Wisconsin Rapids, I went on to get a master's degree in educational technology from Marian University. I then enjoyed teaching K-3rd grade music at Mosinee Elementary School for 14 years. My family built our home in Three Lakes in 2012 as a summer and weekend home, and we were blessed to make it our permanent home in 2019. After moving to Three Lakes full time, I took a couple of years to sub while we settled in and then taught 4K-4th grade music for one year at Eagle River Elementary school in the Northland Pines District before coming to the Three Lakes District. I love spending time with my family in my free time, especially outdoors on the lake. We enjoy boating, wake-surfing and other water sports in the warm weather and snowmobiling and skiing in the winter months. We also love to travel, especially to warm destinations, when winter gets a bit long. I cherish every minute that I get to spend with my husband and our two children, along with our two Labradors. My Teaching Philosophy My ultimate goal as a music teacher is to create a lifelong love and appreciation for music in all of my students. As a teacher, I strive to share my passion for music with my students. I do my best to have a warm and welcoming classroom environment while keeping it structured so that all students feel safe while learning. The greatest pleasure I find in teaching is seeing my students discover the joy and pride of making music. I love seeing the culmination of the concerts, seeing the students finally bring it all together on stage after months of practice. It brings me great joy to see students who were once struggling with something finally figure it out.
