About Me

Hello! My name is Jessica Kirby, and I am the second grade teacher at Three Lakes Elementary. I graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a bachelor's in early childhood education. This will make my 10th year in the district and my 11th year teaching.   

My husband and I live in Three Lakes with our small family. We have a daughter and a golden retriever. My parents live in Wisconsin Rapids. My mom is a retired teachers aid, and my father works for the VA. My brother and his family live in Illinois. I enjoy being part of this community and going to as many town events as I can. Fourth of July and Pumpkin Fest are two of my favorites. I also love being outside, going for walks, crafting and I LOVE to read.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is a simple one: Developing independent learners and critical thinkers while having as much fun as we can.

One thing I always try to remember while I am teaching is the teachers I had as a student. There are those teachers that stick out ... the ones who left an impression. For me, I don’t remember the tests or the lessons; I remember the fun we had while learning. I remember the teaches who helped me enjoy learning even when it was difficult and encouraged me to be better. It is my goal to be that type of teacher for my students while they are in my class and as they move through school.

Being a teacher doesn’t stop when the students are no longer in my room. I try to support them always!
