About Me
I grew up one of seven children and attended schools in Sugar Camp and Three Lakes. I earned bachelor's degrees in child development and family life and family and consumer sciences from UW-Stout, and then went on to gain a master's in social work from UW-Milwaukee. After graduating from college, I moved to Sheboygan to teach high school. My husband and I are parents of twins who attend TLHS and are actively involved in track, soccer and an equestrian drill team. We are animal lovers, sharing our home with a sweet cat, a spirited horse, and an incredibly smart lemon-spotted dalmatian, who is an Advanced Canine Good Citizen.

Summer is my favorite season, as it lets me spend more time with our animals, volunteer in the community, enjoy boating on the local lakes, and connect with extended family, especially my 18 nieces and nephews. I also love to travel, read, garden and stay active with various fitness activities, particularly spin cycling classes, yoga and hiking.

Teaching Philosophy
In my role at school, I am passionate about sharing my love of learning, assisting students with their post-high school decision-making and planning, and helping them earn scholarships by providing writing support. I often find myself more excited than the students when they win a scholarship! It’s incredibly rewarding to help them take practical steps toward their future careers.

My classroom is a blended environment that combines theoretical knowledge with research-based practices and practical skills. I enjoy the creative process of lesson planning, constantly seeking new and engaging ways to capture my students’ interest. A guiding question in my daily practice with students is, “Where in my life will I use what you are teaching me today?”
