HS Social Studies Teacher Email About Me My name is Erin Marvin, and I teach in the social studies department at TLHS. I grew up in Sugar Camp and graduated from Three Lakes in 2007. I attended UW-Oshkosh, where I earned a bachelor's degree in teaching social science. I later earned my master's degree in psychology from Capella University. Following my bachelor's degree, I taught for three years in Menasha and six years in Tomahawk. While I loved my experiences in both of these districts, I am so happy to be back teaching in the community that gave me so much while I was growing up. My husband and I live in Sugar Camp with our new baby girl, Bo, and dog, Dax. We love experiencing all that the beautiful Northwoods has to offer, and we appreciate living in this supportive, tight-knit community. Teaching Philosophy I believe that having strong teachers who care about the whole student is key to successful learning. I believe that the role of the educator should be to inspire thought and guide students in the learning process. It is always my goal to create an environment that promotes student inquiry, group collaboration and critical thought. I believe that the purpose of education goes well beyond memorizing content and prepares students to flourish, no matter what path they choose.
