High School Science Teacher Email Intro and Philosophy My name is Luke Statz, and this will be my first year teaching physical science, biology, and human biology here at Three Lakes High School. I am a fourth-year teacher out of UW-Stevens Point where I graduated with a degree in Natural Science Education. Before coming to Three Lakes, I spent three years teaching middle school science in Rhinelander. My philosophy as a teacher focuses on student growth, not only as a scientist, but also as an individual. My goal is to give students the tools to research, discover and explore the world around them as individuals and in a group/lab setting. By the end of the school year, students will have grown as scientists as well as individuals, with the tools they need to be successful in whatever path they choose to pursue. About Me I am from Wausau, Wis., where I attended Wausau East High School. In high school, I played soccer, hockey and lacrosse. I graduated in 2012, and although I always had a love for science, I chose to attend UW-Stout where I majored in Graphics Communications Management. After a year and a half at Stout, I decided it was time to pursue a subject that I truly enjoyed: science education. I transferred to UWSP where I majored in Natural Science Education with a biology minor. The last step in my education was my student teaching placement at Northland Pines. I am very excited for my first year teaching here at Three Lakes and cannot wait to dive into this school year with you all!
