About Me

I began my teaching career in a first-grade classroom in 2005, and I am excited to be coming back full circle into the first-grade year where sounds become words and words give meaning and your whole world changes. What an amazing year to be a part of in a child's life! 

I began my adult life as a massage therapist and natural healer. I went back to college and received my teacher's license in January 2005, and I was hooked. I taught in Wake County Public Schools in Raleigh, North Carolina for almost 10 years, and then went back to graduate school for an academically gifted certificate shortly before moving back to Wisconsin. I love the art of teaching; the relationships I created in those years imprinted my heart. The students I have spent 175ish days with in a year have taught me just as much, if not more, than what I taught them. Being a teacher has shaped who I am, and has helped me develop deep compassion and gratitude. I am grateful for the opportunity to help support this magical place on the freshwater chain of lakes I call home.
