Hello to all! My name is Katie Bauknecht, and I am so excited to be the fourth grade teacher at Three Lakes Elementary! I am a 2008 Three Lakes High School graduate. After high school, I bounced around a few colleges and majors before I realized my true calling: teaching. In 2010, I entered the distance learning program part-time at the University of Wisconsin-Superior and after years of balancing a mortgage, a marriage, two Labradors, three jobs and a hobby farm, I finally graduated in 2016. I firmly believe that the long road to this profession made me a much better teacher. 

I am entering my eighth year teaching fourth grade and I know this will be the best yet! As a former Three Lakes student, I know what being a Bluejay means: pride, respect and rigor. 

My teaching philosophy is simple: high expectations coupled with authentic learning experiences creates lasting memories and a lifelong love of learning.
