The Sugar Camp SCO is a group of parents who volunteer their time and talents for the benefit of the students of Sugar Camp Elementary School. If you are looking for a way to be more involved in your child’s school year and volunteer in an energetic organization, we need your help! Any and all are welcome to join! Meetings are held the second Sunday of each month at 6pm at Sugar Camp Elementary School in the library. If you cannot attend the meetings, please complete a volunteer form.
The SCO sponsors a variety of events and helps out with funding items for the classroom whenever possible. The money for this comes from two main fundraisers each year, as well as the very successful Box Tops for Education Program.
Some of the events sponsored by the Sugar Camp SCO:
- Halloween Costume Party
- Santa’s Workshop where the kids are able to shop for their immediate family members each year at little to no cost for the student.
- Annual Easter Egg Hunt
- Healthy Kids’ Day
- An Ice Cream Social at the school each May
- An entertainer that is brought into the school each spring
- Activity Day on the last day of school
- Donation for the annual Academic Banquet for TLHS
- Sponsor a special lunch for the teachers as part of Teacher Appreciation Week.
- Provide food for teachers on the Parent/Teacher Conference days.
- Student Council (Grades 3-6)
- Donation to the annual 8th Grade Class trip to Washington D.C.
