Elementary school counseling in the Three Lakes School District is based on the concept that all students should acquire skills at different developmental stages. Our district has a comprehensive plan in place that teaches specific skills at certain grade levels.
At Three Lakes and Sugar Camp elementary schools, a school counselor works in the classroom each week with students. Small groups are also available in specific topics such as divorce, grief, study skills, and friendship. Individual counseling can be requested. The school counselor will make referrals to outside agencies at parent request. At Three Lakes School District, the counselor works closely with local resources and area professionals to meet the needs of all students.
Please note that in any counseling situation, confidentiality is maintained except in cases of suspected neglect or abuse or if a child poses a danger to self or others.
